creaking stairs

can anyone advise mettod of stopping my stairs from creaking without gaining entry to the space under the stairs

I have the same problem where may floorboards are creaking on the stair and landing. I'm re-decorating my house upstairs anyway and have purchased cloud 9 underlay (11mm thick). I've put it in one bedroom already where I had creaking floorboards and it's made a big different. It's a bit on the pricey side, but I would recommend it and I can barely heard to the floorboards creaking.
