Wicked wireless alarm setting off randomly! Help

and likely for the average person more than adequate for the job
Only likely, if one wants security likely is not a word to use in the description of its suitability and relaibility.[/quote]

Likely is totally acceptable and a purchase should be based on risk rather than fear

People tend to make decisions pertaining to security based on emotion rather than actual need, hence they might sign up for an extortionate management contract because it makes them feel safer when the reality is it won't make much difference they will just find out what happened a bit sooner! Is that worth 20~30 per month?

Burglar alarms main purpose is to act as a deterrent, hence they are highly visible.
If they are triggered then they have failed their primary function which its to deter

An alarm system helps make a house more of a pain to rob due to the possibility of the alarm sounding so billy burglar goes elsewhere.

The average burglar is an opportunist add looking for easy entrance undetected any sign of an alarm is likely to deter wired or not. Or indeed a half decent dummy box

As yet I have seen no verifiable evidence that having a wired system makes any difference
in this respect

A determined intruder will bypass or ignore any system a hoodie renders cctv pointless
and they could care less about the noise

Conversely a super hi tech system might ATTRACT attention as the intruder may think you have lots of valuables worth taking the risk for

These intruders who take bigger risks are also more likely to harm the occupants of the property
