Please can anyone advice us as to what can be the problem with our 19 month ideal logic15 boiler. it comes on,the blue ignition flame shows then it goes off and the letters l and number 2 shows, goes back to C then back to L and 2 again. makes a bubbling noise and then goes off. had no heating or hot water for three weeks now. is this anything we can solve ourselfes?been so cold :(

Hi Sue, first thing that comes to mind is that the Ideal logic has a 24 month guarantee, also in the manual it will show you what the error lights faults lights are, if you post the meaning of the fault lights this will help narrow the problem.

This sounds like a poor installation rather than a boiler warranty issue.

How does anyone live with no working boiler for three weeks in 2013 ?

Hi folks, thanks for replys.yes your right we are stiill under warranty till May 18th 2013 but if anyone on hear has tried to get warmfront now corrilion to actually send an engineer out you will understand our frustration. three promises of an engineer so far and no one turns up. Our son has made another attempt on our behalf yesterday on his day off from work, once again we are promised an engineer to come on Tuesday 5th Feb hopefully 2013  but we wont be holding our breath

Anyways explanation over as to the warranty situation. The fault described letter L and number 2 says in our booklet its something to do with ignition lockout, says to check other gas appliances, check gas supply is on at meter and if prepaynent meter that it has credit,if boiler fails to operate then contact ideal (if under warranty) yes right  if no one turns up again on Tuesday was hoping there may be a slim chance someone on hear can tell us if its possible at all for us to be able to sort this out for ourselfes.

Thanks again Sue :)

Yes Dan the service is probably down to us once the warranty expires, but I was referring to repairs to a broken down boiler which we are entitled to till May 18th. clearly a job for the professional hear. one just hopes it may be something simple that an amateur may be able to sort. Hubby can do most things but plumbing and boilers im afraid not.
