If it is supporting that 9x3 then by definition it is supporting!

How far is it to the other ends of that 9x3?

Thanks. The wall I want to remove is behind cabinets. The whole length of that joist is 2.8 metre and it stops just a bit after the wall I am removing. This joist seems to support the bathroom door wall. The bedroom wall behind bathroom is supported of floorboards. However there is a corner nogging as seen in picture(maybe to give support to toilet pan above it,not sure).

Just an update. Spoken to building engineer. That wall is not a load bearing according to them. They advised to leave that section of wall which is supporting the joist. If i open up the wall half way leaving enough nib,for the joist to sit on it will be fine.
