Hello,

My daughter has just moved into a flat and there is a terrible smell of drains coming from the kitchen and she has also had dirty water coming back into her washing machine.
I have had a look at the drainage pipes under the sink to see if there was an obvious fault and (although not an expert) it doesn't look right to me. Can anyone advise if this is correct please
The two coming down from the top are the from the sink, the two on the left are the washing machine & dishwasher.

The whole lot has moved, you can tell from the waste from the sink on the left. Also the washing machine waste should be high up then drop down to the waste.

It's connected wrong the u bend is not doing it's job.
The centre waste outlet needs to be connected to the u bend not the w/machine.

Change the 2 around.

I saw a kitchen sink waste trap piped up like this in a new-build approx. 3 months old. Maybe the same idiot-house-basher- did this plumbing too.

The whole trap got changed around and altered very slightly to make it all fit. 20 mins work I reckon.
