Fault light on Potterton Performa 28e Boiler came on last night, indicating fault with fan/flue.
Turned boiler off, left for 5 minutes then put back on and same light came on.
However, have turned boiler on this morning as a final check and its working again, the fan/flue fault light isn't on and we're getting heat from all our radiators.
We had this problem about 6 weeks ago, the same light came on and we got a gas registered plumber out who seemed to have fixed the problem. Whilst we weren't in the property at the time (parents let the chap in as we were both at work), the plumber said that one of the knobs on the bottom of the boiler had been knocked off slightly and it was simply a case of turning the knob back.
However, given this has happened again, and seems to have magically (and probably temporarily!) fixed itself, what should we do next?
Boiler is due a service so that's probably the next step - would a service pick this up and fix the fault?
Some pictures of "the knobs underneath" the boiler below.
