Hello all.

I have an external fire door to replace shortly, and I'm currently looking into the panic bolt for it.

The existing door has a push bar across its width, and just a latch in the middle of the door which locks into the frame, which I don't think would take mutch to prise the door open

I know you can get the type which locks the door into the top of the frame and also the floor, but is there anything better than this on the market?

It is a standard 2'6" door blank which opens outwards.
The panic bolt must be able to be operated from outside, and preferably retaining the existing handle as the euro cylinder in it is part of a master key setup.

This is the current (briton) handle

Thanks for any ideas :D

the locking handles are shockingly expensive, so look for a Briton three-point set with panic bar. They incorporate the top and bottom bolt plus the edge latch. the tubes can be cut to suit height of door, and have bevelled solid bolts that fit into top and bottom tubes.

I think it is this one

But you can get Briton to send you a brochure

Thanks John, that looks just the part, and seems to be compatible with the existing handle. :D (I'll check with briton though)

Nice price tag too
