Lead pipe replacement

I've only been in the property 4 months.

I plan to lay a new 22MM water main to the bathroom to give me maximum pressure for my shower (8" rose).

The cold feed for the shower should normally come from the cold storage tank for equal pressure with the hot feed.If you're going to use water main then you will have to fit equal pressure valve otherwise you might find the cold main feed will push back up the hot feed line and very difficult to set the right temperature for the shower as well as when someone turn on the cold feed elsewhere.

Hello all.. Good news. The water company called today to assess my leaky stopcock. The guy was great. He has arranged for a Replacement stopcock, pipe back to the mains in the road , AND free replacement of My lead piping. A victory... Thanks for all the advice and a happy new year..

MMM water company havn't been yet. Hole is now FULL of water. I always wanted a pond but not quite now....

AT LAST no more lead pipe. Northumbrian water eventually turned up, dug all the lead pipes out and fitted new stopcock and plastic pipes all F.O.C. Subject closed thanks for all the help and comments. Hopefully will be of help to others.
