Hello again,
I've put in an RSJ to replace a dividing wall, obviously it's sitting as an "I" shape.
Is there any particular recommended way to fix wooden beams in the sides of the I to fit the plasterboard to?.

Fix lengths of timber along the beam, bolted through. 6mm holes will be easy to drill and you can then bolt through with M6 bolts.

Might seem small but it's only holding up a small quantity of timber and plasterboard that's cladding the beam.

If you fix the timber vertically every 300mm, you can then pack these out and fix the plasterboard to it. Might wanna try some rockwool insulation stuffed behind for sound dampening and extra fire resistance.

Make sure the plasterboard joins are level and a good plasterer will finish it off nicely.
