Central Heating programmer/timer upgrade
Reply with quote Thanks

Hi all, I am going to attempt to upgrade the programmer for my central heating (old MK1 SUNVIC with analogue clock) to a digital one bought from Trav.Prkns. The old SUNVIC has 19 wires going in and the new IFLO has 7. I will buy a connecting plate to sort this. Can someone please tell me which wires go where? Many Thanks.

Hi. thank you for sending the contents of the web page, I used firefox browser & for some reason it didn't like the link, but internet explorer was fine icon_smile.gif

I could use a little more help as to which plan to follow as a few of them seems compatible to me. Im not sure if I have gravity hot water, but I do have a gravity fed cold water tank in the attic.

There are many wires coming from the old SUNVIC, I've tried to identify where they are from to help choose which plan schematic to follow.

Any more tips or suggestions would be gratefully received!

That is a Y plan in your photo.

There was no need to duplicate post in plumbing section then as you have already had good answers.

hi, today I bought a 10 way junction box. I was getting to grips with the Y plan schematic, (building up confidence) but soon realised that there are a few things that don't add up (in my mind) icon_confused.gif

I noted all the wires on a piece of paper and compared them next to the honeywell Y-plan.
First, the valve at home has 4 wires (brown, grey, orange, blue) where the Y-diagram has 5 wires (?) that makes me unsure as to which wire to screw into which number (1-10)

Second, The cylinder stat also has 4 wires (blue, yellow, white, grn/yell) where the Y diagram shows the cyinder stat with 3 wires (clearly not colour marked) Just 1, 2 & c [?]

My old SUNVIC programmer again: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tomengo/1330610346/

Last, I have a brown wire called 'permanent ' I'm thinking that's the 230v power-in. I have a neutral from the 230v too, but no earth...is that a problem? icon_eek.gif

Sorry to be such a noob. Im very grateful for any help.
