Hotpoint Aquarius DWF30 will not fill.

Water supply is connected and switched on, filter is clear. No water flows into machine although motor sounds as though it is washing.
I have tipped machine onto front and back but no water flows out so it doesn't seem to be a case of overfill causing the sensor to stop the inflow. Help, please!
