I have bought a dimmer switch and cant get it to work.the original fitting is one switch operating one light,however the one I have bought is a(2 way), could someone please explain what it means and what i have to change it for,thanks borobezza

A 2-way dimmer can be used as a 1-way switch by connecting to common or ~ & L1 or L2. Connect the live to common or ~ & the other wire to L1 or L2. Are you trying to dim a low voltage fitting, as that may be your problem.
