HELP please! Switch

Hi,

I have a switch in my 30 year old house that has only 2 wires that go into two different holes on the back. It does have two screws that hold the wires but nothing is attatched, the switch does work but is completely caked with paint so I tried to switch them out one was normal, this one is odd, please help me if you can! Thanks
