Hi,

I have a double oven and hob wired in at the moment. I need to wire them into a new circuit breaker but I was wondering what is the max rating I should go to considering the wiring is only 6mm? :confused:

Hob = 7.1 kW
Oven = 5.4 kW

Therefore an ideal MCB would be 52A but surely I can\\\'t get that current safely over 6mm wire? Is 32A really the max I can go to?

(Oh using 240v by the way...)

40A should be ok provided thermal insulation is not involved anywhere along the route

this is allowed by diversity guideline but there is the possibility of getting neusence tripping at the worst possible time (ie when cooking for a big party or similar)

if you wan't fully rated cuircuits then i would suggest a second cuircuit also in 6mm so you have the oven and hob on dedicated cuircuits
