Pros and cons of using alarm system for smoke/fire detectors

From my personal opinion, id say they are better than none/battery units but care should be taken as it is nowhere near as good as a full fire alarm, with fireproof cable etc. If the cable is damaged by the fire before the sensor activates then you may or may not get an alarm from it depending upon the fault the cable damage caused. These can only be used after a full risk assesment IMO. Having said that i have menvier m12's in my own house, not battery units.
