Can somebody help? Tap body containing ceramic disc washer seems to be stuck. Have tried everything including the use of heat but i still cannot get it to release. Don't want to have to buy a new tap just because of a worn disc.
Tap is a heritage Granley. website shows you can get a new body contain disc so it must come out.

Can you describe what you're doing to attempt its removal?

For example, by what means are you holding the tap steady while trying to undo the valve body?

Is it possible that it's a left-handed thread?

If all else fails, then remove the tap from the basin and put it in a vice on a bench.

Holding the tap body with a stilson wrench and the tap valve with a spanner. Should not be this tight surely.
Have tried the other way to see if it would turn no luck either. Doubt if it's left hand thread

The taps are in the centre of the bath and are against the wall so reaching the tap retaining nut etc is very difficult.

I agree - it shouldn't be anywhere near that tight.

Getting the tap off might not be as difficult as you think, with one of these:
