I want to connect taps to a seporate spout
but the supplied hoses are too short - the taps pipe a 3/4 inch up to the floor under the bath and then an elbow connected to 1/2 inch pipe to the taps - the outlet to the spout are 3/4 fitting - is it ok to use 3/4 inch between tap and spout even though the taps were suppled with 1/2 inch

should be no problem at all mate

Thanks for your reply

Question:
Why do plumbers go from 3/4 to 1/2 in this case as they then need
converters when connection to the taps etc. which are 3/4 fitting?

Perhaps he just ran out of 3/4" pipe or 3/4" elbow joints, while he was on the job. Or, more likely, it's a habbit he's picked up from installing radiators to 22mm flow/returns.
