We painted our spare room 4 weeks ago, painted B&Q emulsion on top of previous coat which was a white emulsion coloured with a tint syringe - this coat was done about 7 years ago.

Our room now stinks - it is like a joke shop fart gas smell!!! It is definitely the walls as it is worse when you put your nose right to them.

Can paint react with paint to create such a bad smell?? How would we get rid of it? We can't wash the paint off - would repainting again work?

Thanks so much - our house now smells bad !!

Some houses were built from breeze block that contained hydrogen sulphide (bad egg gas). It'll go when it dries out.
