I have a kitchen and toilet next to each other the kitchen extracter fan and toilet fan share the same duct to outside. Is this ok the problem I have is sometimes you can smell toilet smells in kitchen and visa versa kitchen smells in toilet. The question is there some thing I can buy to stop this happening or do I need a separate duct for the toilet..

seperate is the ultimate solution, you can get "non return flaps" our bathroom has them, but not ideal
