Door lock

Hi All, I have a upvc door that you need to lift the door handle to lock it, you know the type. The thing is, unless you lock the door each time you come in, anybody can open the door just by lifting the outside door handle.

My question is, can i change the lock system so if you just shut the door and not lift and lock it, it can not be opened from the outside unless you have a key?

yes all you need is a pad handle on the outside you can get these from any window company take the original one with you to make sure all the holes line up but once fitted it will be the same as a yale lock SO don't forget your key

The above depends if your mechanism's latch withdraws with a turn of the key. If not, then you've no way of letting yourself in.
