Hozelock corner bracket fixing

Do these (the corner roller guide) have a metal bracket that fixes to the wall first? Or do you just screw through the plastic into the wall?

I'm fitting one for someone, came from their old house but they can't remember if there were any other 'bits'
Got the hose fitted with the metal support bracket up first.

as far as i recall they just come as they are with no metal bracket, and simply screw onto the wall.

I assume they are only used when pulling the hose round a corner?

...as opposed to pulling away from the corner, it feels a bit too flexible to take that sort of strain.

yes. theyre designed to stop it getting caught on the corners
