Should door knockers be positioned in the center of the door?

Put the door knocker at the highestpoint of the door, that way you will not get any one calling that you do not want to know about.

But seriously it doesn't matter where the door knocker goes, but most put it in the middle as that is usually goes, i have seen them to one side, it is really personal preference, not to mention that most doors have panels and the middles is the stronger part, but that said so is the "frame" of the door (that is frame of the door not door frame)
