Radon Building regulation BR211

Hi
Can anyone clarify if the radon protect regulations apply new build homes only or if they would include a new detached double garage for an existing property?

They shouldn't do, as it's not habitable and its construction would not lead to an increase of radon ingress into the existing building. Do you live in a high risk area?

According to the survey when we moved in and the latest maps, this area requires basic protection rather than full. We are going to build a bungalow in a year's time so that will have to have the protection.
