Setting taps

I purchased some ceramic lever taps to replace old style wall shower taps from a plumbing supply shop, he said the taps would need setting before changing them over, what does he mean by setting?

did the taps come with instructions.
did the taps come with any other bits.
He may mean the direction the taps turn can be reversed or something simple like that. I'm not sure though

I agree with you Kev plumb, never heard of if it before, but as i understand it, this is, a forum to help ppl, and help plumbers alike and not an ego boosting, site to get your rocks off, personnaly a masage parlour does it for me.!!, just kidding wife walked into room. None of us know it all, and i believe some time spent with ppl whom, are not offray with plumbing isnt a bad thing at all. P.s. what do you know about neurology ??. No offense, intended, Laboured on a spark today and felt totally thick. Only good at your own game, and i learnt that today !!
