Hi folks - am wondering if you would be bale to help me out and give some advice.

I have been infomred by our BCO that our tiles are wrong ( for the pitch of roof we have - he says its 10% pitch and we need to have Foritcrete Centurion tiles which will match that pitch ....

I think it woudl be best if I was to take the tiles off and teh battens and the felt ( its a normal roofing felt non-breathable ) - and replace this with a breathable felt -

Wickes have one for £58, on a special offer price - its normally £84 pounds for a 50m roll ) -

Is this the same as Tyveck ? - as this is what the BCO says we have to use, the Wickes felt was light grey in colour, and I think it will be the same as Tyveck.

Can you please advise.

Thanks in advance

Tony

you need to ensure that it is B.B.A. licensed and is like for like regards performance with the tyvek (unlikely).

the sarking membrane will make little difference to the slightness of pitch irrespective of whether it is breathable or not.

at 10 degrees i would be more concerned with cover lap and double felting.
