Jaguar Combi Boiler F1 keeps coming on

Can anyone helps please - My boiler stops working and F1 comes up on the display. I press the reset button and the flame kicks in but a few hours latter it stops working again and I keep having to reseting it. (This has been going on for weeks)

The manual says to contact a service man if this happens but I was hoping I could fix the problem myself and save the call out charges. It was last serviced in Jan this year. Or if I just ignore the problem and keep pressing the reset button everytime it happens will this cause long term problems?

you need a new gas valve (a job for a rgi). Call the manufacturer on

Thanks Dangermouse - I just got a reply from my plumber who quoted me for a new boiler - I take it that the replacement part would be cheaper to do! Think he must have been trying to con me!!!!!!
