Hi. I'm trying to re-arrange my front room to make it a more usable space and it ideally will involve adding a socket to the wall.

I was wondering what a reasonable price should be for an electrician to fit a double socket sunken in to the wall?

Unfortunately it's impossible to tell without visiting the property! It depends on how far the new socket is from available power, the state of the existing wiring, whether it is a notifiable job, etc etc. A simple socket next to another could cost you fifty quid. Add any potential problems, and you could be looking at hundreds.

Best get a recommended spark to come 'round and have a look.

PS. What do you mean by 'remote'?

Thanks for that. Electrical circuitry in the room is about ten years old maybe less and where I want the new sockets is going to be about 1-2 metres away from the actual main fusebox.

I didn't mention 'remote'?

Both being 'Spike' is remotely funny is it not ??

(He did though, didn't he.. mention it. ;) )

Ahhh.just realised. That was meant to say add socket to room rather than remote. I must have been thinking about remotes at the time for some reason.
