PAVING STRONG ENOUGH FOR CARS

Existing broken concrete on entrance drive, and an unwanted flowerbed need replacing--about 100 sq yds in all. Tarmac quotes are too dear so want to use cheapest paving slabs which can carry a car and also be smooth enough for kids to ride their bikes on.
Any advice would be much appreciated

Even the thickest most expensive slabs won't be any good if they are not laid properly on a well prepare base.

Bog standard 600mm x 600mm x 50mm concrete slabs will easily deal with a vehicle weight so long as they are solid bedded on 40mm plus sharp sand mortar on 100mm minimum well compacted stone.
