Hi,
MOT booked for Tuesday and the airbag warning light has just come on and will not go out after self checking during start up. Is this something that can be reset or is there a fault. Your help would be greatfully received

Possibly loose connector on the seat belt pre-tensioner?

Wotan

Thank you for that, is it under the drivers seat or are both seats monitored. Wife is away in it at the moment so can't have a look until Monday.
TIA

Nice of you to send her off in a possibly dangerous car.

And the pretensioners, AFAIK, are hidden where the seatbelt rolls up, such that it can roll up the slack when you crash.

If I remember correctly, the pretensioners are at the bottom of the seat, on the side nearest the door and run from front to rear.

assuming that you are worried that it will fail its mot test, air bags are not part of the mot and neither are airbag warning lights. In fact even if the seat belt pre tensioners have fired it is not a failure. We simply have to advise the customer of the fact that they have activated.

I'll 2nd the pre tensioners, loose connector.
Common fault.
