My valves either side of my heating pump do not seem to be shutting off, as I still have pressure and water there when i've loosened the nuts. Is there any other way of shutting off to replace the pump? Cheers

its not unusual for the valves to stick. You could drain the system or freeze the pipework either side of the pump. If you drain the ststem don't forget to add inhibitor when you refill

I think it's just the top valve that's letting by, I can hear the tank in the loft filling. If i was to isolate the tank would it help? Cheers

Open and shut the valves a few times which may help. If the pump is upstairs, you don't have to drain much. Otherwise block the outlet from the tank and the vent. That way the water will eventually stop, providing only one of the valves leak. If you do it bu draining, change the valves at the same time as the pump.
