Hi gent

Can someone please advise me on how to fit a Siemens RDH 10RF wireless room thermostat to a Vaillant Ecotec 831 Combi?

The Ecotec has a Live Neural and Earth terminal which connect to the main supply which powers the boiler.
The boiler also has terminals 3 4 5 which look like one is earth and the other 2 are for the thermostat switch.

The Wireless roomstat has a sender box that needs to wire into the boiler.
The wiring diagram is in this link http://www.screwfix.com/sfd/i/cat/pdfs/87/p4766387.pdf

Can anyone please advise me on this as I plan on doing this at the weekend.

Many Thanks

Planemad

Remove the link between 3-4.

T3 to L1

T4 to LX

You also need a L & N from the boiler supply.

a slightly simpler way to do it

boiler / reciever

3 to L

4 to L1

5 to N

link L and LX in the reciever

Don't be mental, the Vaillant is volts free and that wouldn't work anyway.

It switches between L1 & LX

sorry doitall but every vaillant I have installed has 3 4 and 5 as 240v, 3 is live send, 4 is live return and 5 is neutral, so the layout is correct

Picasso has it, there isn't a L1 and lx
Are you confusing another manufacturer?

londonboy have a look at the link the op has posted, the wiring diagram shows L1 LX and L2

Oh yeh sorry I misread. Have realised those terminals are in stat.

But anyway what you have said should work
(don't forget the link between L and LX!!)

Gordon bennett.

If you link L to LX the bloody boiler will be on 24/7

dia with all due respect, read the instructions LX is common in the reciever and L is permanent live so linking them does nothing more than make LX (which is common) live until the relay is switched linking LX and L1 bringing on the boiler.

So your saying Boiler first.

3 to L.
5 to N.
4 to L1

and link L to LX in the timer.

Either works or it don't, never too old to learn as they say.

Sorry Lads - have we worked out how to do it yet?

really need to know as I want to do this tomorrow.

Thanks

Yes go for my 2:17 post which is what the others agree with, or should that be I agree with ;)
