I have had an extension built, and where this met the existing house the chimney was in the way and had to be taken down. I had a gas fire, but obviously can't use it, what sort of fire can I have that will not require the chimney stack to be rebuilt?

you could still have a gas fire just use a gas vent ridge a roofer to fit the ridge but someone gas safe registered to fit the flue to the ridge tile
