has the 17th edition banned bs3036

not that i would fit one (or want to) but i wondered if they have finally been banned

The only thing wrong with BS3036 fuses IMO is their low kA value, but other then that, they are a good OCPD.

i am not saying there is anything wrong with bs3036s in fact in some ways i wish my lighting circuits were protected by them (and maybe the sockets that serve table and floor lamps)

i reason i said i would not want to is because
1)i did not know if they were still compliant
2)i don't know how you could use the and comply with 17th ed (regarding RCDs)

but yes they are a good over current protection device

There's nothing wrong with a BS3036 fuse supplying an RCD by the consumer unit then the final circuit out from there.
