i have just bought some replacement light switches but on the back is just 2 inputs, l1 and L2. no COM input. does any one know how these can be wired. apparently, they are mechanical switches. thank you.

With on/off switches there is no com and L1 will be line and L2 to light where the same moulding is used for 2 way and on/off L1 is marked Com and L2 is marked L1 and in real terms it does not matter if L1 and L2 are swapped.
Paul - please buy a multimeter if you plan to do electrical work.

Just hope that none of the light circuits are two-way. You'll need different switches if that is the case.
