Gap to left above double fitted oven

Hi there, is the a minimim gap that must be left above the top of a fitted oven and a 'wooden' shelf above it? This is an upright 600mm unit etc.

Did you mean to post this in Electrics UK? Either way i'm not really sure I understand the question. :confused:

Sometimes a gap is specified in the oven instructions, 40mm or so which is the space built in to the oven casing unless the hob protrudes below worktop level. You can also leave a couple of mm between the oven front and bottom of worktop rather than jammed up against it. Getting the side supports in the oven housing in the right place is the key. If you end up with a couple of mm less than specified it won't be a problem.
