We are trying to put a new light switch up, replacing an old dimmer with a one-gang, 2 way 10A rocker switch. The original switch has connections labelled live, ext and load and an earth connection, whereas the new switch has sockets labelled one-way, two-way and com as well as an earth. Therefore they both have four connections labelled differently - the only one the same being the earth one. Can anyone identify what attaches to what? Hope this makes sense. Many thanks for any responses. Why can't they make life simple?!

Assuming it's just being used as a 1 way switch then just connect brown (red) in to '1 way' & blue (black) in to com or vice versa just leaving '2 way' unused and of course green & yellow to earth, the blue (black) should be sleeved brown to show that it's a switched line by the way.
If it's being used as a 2 way switch then it's best to post what colour the existing cables are for the correct advice.

i would put the red in the com and the black in the 1way it dosent really matter but the switch might be oppersit way to what it was.
