Hi All,

2 Probably amatuer questions! :)

I skimmed a bow conversion ceiling today, as agreed with the customer, now shes decided she wants it artexing to match the ceiling in the lounge, ( I tried to persuade her out of it, but it didnt work! )

I dont mind doing it, but just want to know if with it being "fresh" skim wether it would need pva'ing before artexing? Initial thoughts are that it will still need pva'ing just want to be sure.

2nd question is, The walls below ( Am unsure of what they are! Think its some sort or paterend / stippled render? ) Anybody seen this before? and if so whats the best way to get round them?

I doubt pva'ing and skimming would be an option? would it be either to bond them up and them skim or board and skim?

Cheers guys and sorry for the silly questions!

Kind Regards,

looks like you have answered your own questions.

the wall can either be boarded (dab, foam adhesive or battens) then skim

or pva'd and a base coat plaster and skim

all assuming no moisture is present

Cheers John,

Thought so just wanted to check!

With regards to the bow roof, is it worth slapping some pva on before artexing :?:
