Wall chasing and cable routing rules

Hello.

Can I chase down one side of an internal block wall to the drill through to a light switch that is being fitted on the other side of the wall? Sounds a bit dodge to me but thought I'd ask the question.

I'm doing this as prep for the sparky when he comes in so I cant get it wrong.

not really, no. chase on the same side of the wall as the accessory, how thick is the wall?
