Oven Wiring Safety Check/remedy

Attached below are images of the electrical connection under the oven and my hob plug in question.

If I do recess the sockets into the plaster board is this acceptable and using the current socket. If not could someone please specify what is required. Needless to say I have lost confidence in the electrician who fitted them.



Note the plug cable was not in the way as much previously as I have unplugged it, it was push more behind the oven but still touching it.

Not sure if theres a reg that prohibits mounting sockets upside down like that (mine is mounted upside down in a cupboard though, those 6mm cores are a PITA to bend around!)

But yes, FGS just recess it into the wall, stop asking us. If it makes you feel better just get a metal or plasterboard box for the socket.

alternatively you could replace the socket with an FCU and hardwire the oven in.

OR replace the ovens plug - a replacement plug wont have as much protrusion onto the wire, allowing you to bend it back lower.

It would have been better if you had continued with your existing posts, and not started a new one.

I have no idea about your other ones so do not know any of the background. There are 310,761 posts on this forum - I'm not going to go searching.

Judging by the debris on the floor and the foot of the unit, yes..
