Hi all,

I have had a outside light fitted and the cable has been chased up the internal wall. Now the wall had wallpaper on and it's like a second skin.

As a result of the chase up the wall I will need to remove all the wallpaper from the hallway. I have a steamer to use - will it damage the plaster underneith?

Any tips on keeping the plaster in one piece?

Thanks,

Daniel

Don't use the steamer right up to the chase and don't keep it in one place too long. The steam should penetrate far enough to loosen the paper.

What about a scorer and then soaking with a solution?

Really can't afford to damge the plaster too much

If it has been painted - then you are bu**ered. Steamers don't work on painted paper.
