External sockets are IP rated and we'd need to see the location and understand why you are asking the question.
RCD and at least something from the MK external range, but if required weather proof (and lockable) housings are available.

1200 will generally ensure that it's out of the way for patio furniture and plant pots etc, it's a lot less likely to get rain bouncing back up at it from the floor, and you're not going to catch it with the mower
