Hi,

I've just replaced a euro lock cylinder but when I fully tighten the retaining bolt the lock wont lock. If I loosen it it works ok. Anyone have any ideas what the issue might be or how to fix it?

Cheers!

Quite common, if ever i came across this i left the screw just nipped up, won't hurt it not being right tight, must be an alignment issue

Got it sorted. Was going to leave it loose but decided to knock a bit off the end of the retaining screw (it was a new one the old one was worn - had to snap the lock to get it out!). Took about 2mm off the end of the screw with a hacksaw and it works no problem now. Bit rough and ready but it fixed it.

Think the retaining screw must have been protruding out of the lock and pushing off the frame putting the cylinder out of alignment so cutting the bit off the end of the screw sorted it! Hope this helps someone else out there with the same problem
