Hi I am looking to buy some of these doors. Few questions before i order please.

They are 78'' high but a few of my door frames are now only 76 high after having wood flooring installed and also just being weird. Will these be able to have 2'' cut off them? I know the lipping is only 12mm or so. I will probably get a carpenter in to fit all these for me. But wanted to ask first before ordering.
Also if anyone can recommend a carpenter in the North London Essex area, please PM me.

Thanks Worz

in general you need to check with the instillation/manufacturers instructions

without further information often restricting to 5mm off each side and perhaps 10 top and 20 bottom

a reasonable maximum amount on non veneered doors would be 12mm each side and top with 25mm off the bottom
as i say most are less some will be more
you need to take into account door construction before deciding the actual amount :D

Thanks big-all

I rang the company and they said similar to you. They know it has been done ok, but is not recommended and if they fall apart then its down to me :(

I dont know what to do now........

Any opinions please.

on veneered doors it tends to be more cosmetic as in the core is made from several dozen bits off odd wood [often approching 100 bits]glued together end to end side to side top to bottom

so you just cut off 6mm to much and re-lip with 6mm timber or what ever size you can get
