How best to attach UPVC door trim?

I've had to remove the external trim from my UPVC kitchen door to replace the sealant which had failed.

The old trim (which snapped when getting it off) seemed to be attached by a combination of sealant and a thin line of glue/cement. Can anyone recommend the best way to attach the new trim? I was wondering whether I could just attach it with sealant? Would this be sufficient?

Silicone sealant (which you used to re-seal the frame) or a similar adhesive sealant product

As Woody says, silicone sealant. You may want to use double sided tape to hold the trim in position before you apply the sealant.
