I'm adding a pair of wall lights in a bedroom (above the bed) switched from a new switch with two switches on a single faceplate.

I'm taking the power via a fuse spur from a socket on a ring main.

As per the following:

Running a fused spur from a socket outlet

I'm a bit confused by the cable. The switch doesn't have a connection for the neutral cable (nor does the diagram show one). I had planned to take a line of twin and earth 1mm cable form the fuse spur. The fuse spur has 3 connections for live, neutral and earth but nothing for the neutral on the switch.

Any ideas? Should I simply be using a different cable?

No, the cable that you are planning to use is the correct one.
In lighting you do not switch the neutral, only the live conductor.

Ignore the diagram you refer to. Some of the info on that site is WRONG.

Diagram 6 will be the one you need.

PS Make sure your fused spur has a 3amp fuse in it.
