Hi,

I am fitting an inline extractor fan with 12v shower light, which I wish to come on with the bathroom lights.

The transformer/light is no problem, however, the fan unit has no timer and therefore only has a 2 wire (L & N) connection to it. It is a 32w unit by Manrose moving 180m2 per hour. (see here http://www.manrose.co.uk/specifications/proshowerlitefankit.pdf )

I will run it through an FCU which I was intending to run on a spur from the sockets ring main, however, how do I then get the fan to turn on via the bathroom light switch?

Does it just need feeding from the lighting circuit instead? Will that handle it ok?

Only ever used timed ones before which were no problem.

Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply. I have an outlet which prevents backdraughts. Will have to think about insulation though.

Will using the lighting circuit be ok here in the UK?

Thanks
