Hi, does anyone know what are or where i could find the building regs for installing a wood burning stove in a conservatory please in relation to distance from the house exterior wall and flue routes etc etc. I'm struggling to find info on this.

Many thanks

Thanks for your replies. No I'm not HETAS but would probably get a HETAS registered installer in to fit it but before I waste peoples time I wanted to measure up my conservatory to see if its feasible to have a woodburner in there but I cannot find any info on where to position the burner, how far away it needs to be from the house external wall, where the flue needs to run, how far it needs to extend through the roof and distance it has to be from next door neighbours conservatory.

its something like 18" from flammable material dependant on size

How close are your neighbours ? I have come across a woodburner in a conservatory that complied with all regs planning etc that had an enforcement notice slapped on it from environmental health as it was deemed to be causing a statutory nuisance to neighbours.

There are log burners and log burners and regulations vary depending on the type size, output etc. Some log burners can be fitted directly to the wall - look for zero clearance log burners. If I were you I would find a log burner first and then obtain the manufacturers installation specification. Where applicable that will point you to the relevant regulations for the particular unit.
