I thought ES lampholders were discontinued due to safety concerns but having tried to purchase some new light fittings they all seem to have ES lampholders, very few have BC. Why?
Probably the main reason that ES fittings have become more common here is because they're more widely used on the Continent, and manufacturers are now tending to reduce the number of different versions of light fitting needed across multiple national markets.
My problem is I have a lifetimes supply of the new energy saving lamps via 'freebies' from various sources to suit bayonet fittings but any new equipment I buy tends to be either E/S or S/E/S fittings!
