Removing Brake Drums on a 2004 micra

Am planning to try n fix the rear brakes from squeeling but last did this 20 years ago on a Nova.

Before I tackle it, Are there any tricky bits removing the drums.. e.g. any parts I need to catch while pulling the drum off?
fair chance of damaging the shoes or the seals on the brake cylinders?

Dead easy mate, you'll even find 8mm threaded holes in the drum to help it part company from the hub - just screw some bolts in.
The hub itself unbolts too (one central nut) if you want that out of the way to fit new shoes. Chances are it'll just need the dust blowing out.

thanks.. will i need to use new locking nuts?

Presumably this is for removing the rear hub, which comes away complete with its bearing?
If its a nyloc type then just a drop of Loctite will be adequate, if its a staked type then renew the nut if there are any splits in the staked part.
main stealers would put new nuts on as a matter of course, but in reality its not necessary.
