Hello

I bought a new bosch single oven 2.8KW

I have a question regarding wiring into the oven. I understand that I should be using 6mm cable, which I have, however due to the thickness of the cable it is prooving difficult to get a tight curl around the screw.

Am I doing the right thing by curling the cable around the screw?

thanks for your attention

You don't need 6.00 cable for 2.8kW, the cooker it is only rated at 12.2Amps. So 2.5mm would do, but if you have 6.00mm installed I would stick with iot if you ever need to upgrade to a higher powered cooker.
It can be quite awkward to terminate 6.00mm if the terminals are not suitable to take the size of the cable.
You could consider crimping the cable ends using a 4.0mm - 6mm Yellow Eyelets Connectors or a Folk Connector. You will need a crimping tool/ratchet to do this.

You don't wrap around screw just place on left side against the stop [small metal section top left of each screw] when tighten this prevent the wire being dragged thru and keeps it in place when tightening.
